The Net Zero 2050 Climate Foundation, a non-profit corporation under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, announced on the 22nd that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan on April 22, 2022 for humanitarian resolution and cooperation in climate, environment and energy issues.

Jang Dae-sik (Chairman of the Net Zero 2050 Climate Foundation), A. Hakim Atarud (Ambassador to Afghanistan), Mohammad Yasir Karimi (Chief Minister), Choi Kwang-seok (Secretary General), and Park Chi-joon(NBB Vice President) attended.

At the MOU agreement, Jang Dae-sik, chairman of the Korea Climate Foundation, proposed to jointly respond to Afghanistan's refugees, as well as to respond to climate change and environmental damage, and promote information, knowledge, technology, and human exchanges.

To this end, young people in Afghanistan agreed to jointly participate in the "Treebus," a climate change youth organization under the Net Zero 2050 Climate Foundation, to find ways to cope with climate change led by young people.

The two agencies-to the Afghan refugees through the crisis and climate change agreement for humanitarian response for the active participation and will try to enlarge cooperation.
