The Net Zero 2050 Climate Foundation, a non-profit corporation under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, announced on the 8th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding(MOU) with Gunsan University and Gunsan Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Industry Cooperative.

Jang Dae-sik (Chairman of the Net Zero 2050 Climate Foundation), Choi Kwang-seok (Secretary General), Kang Young-shin(Policy Director), Lee Hee-kyung (Director of Planning and Research), and An Su-ji (Senior Researcher).

Lee Jang-ho (President of Gunsan University), Director of Planning, Kang Ki-won (Head of a graduate school), Lee Ho and Kim Sang-young (Head of Industry-Academic Cooperation Division), Choi Yeon-sung (Professor of Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering), and Kwon Bong-oh(Professor of Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Biology). Prior to the agreement, Jang Dae-sik, chairman of the NetZero 2050 Climate Foundation, thanked the guests who attended the event.

Through this agreement, it is expected that it will develop into a hub for carbon-neutral implementation in Jeollabuk-do through a network of industries, universities, and foundations that reflect the regional characteristics of Gunsan.

We look forward to developing the network and carbon-neutral support centers that the three organizations have built together into a standardized model.". It announced that it is currently establishing and operating a "regional energy center" to promote the conversion of energy to local governments around the country and to cope with climate change, such as the carbon neutral support center.

In particular, Suwon-si operates a regional energy center in the form of consignment operation to a center established in the graduate school of Aju University.

Benchmarking the same model as Ajou University, the NetZero 2050 Climate Foundation, Gunsan University, and Gunsan Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Industry Cooperative also said, "We ask everyone to do their best to become a representative model and excellent case of the carbon neutral support center."
